Our story
Made by Nadia Price, Conway.
Fern & Thread is a spare bedroom in Conway with a very large spool of cotton rope, an embroidery hoop on every flat surface, and a lot of podcasts. It started during a long winter when I needed my hands busy and ended up with more plant hangers than a person can reasonably own.
The macramé is natural cotton, knotted by hand in patterns I mostly make up as I go. The embroidery is on linen and takes longer than it looks like it should; the wildflower hoops are drawn from what is blooming on the walk to the mailbox. The beeswax wraps I started making for my own kitchen and now make for a few hundred other kitchens, with beeswax from an apiary one county over.
It is a small operation and I like it that way. Everything is made by me, packed by me, and the thank-you note is actually handwritten.
