Our story
Made by Mara Lindqvist, Rogers.
Every piece starts on a riverbank. I have a jar of stones on the bench that I pulled from gravel bars on the Buffalo and the White over a dozen summers, and most of what I make is an excuse to set one of them.
Mara Jewelry began at a kitchen table in Rogers with a hardware-store torch and a library book. There is a proper bench now and the torch has been upgraded exactly once, but the way of working has not changed: I saw every shape by hand, solder it, set the stone, and finish it with files and a soft wheel. Metal is recycled sterling and brass. I do not cast, so no two pieces are identical and I am fine with that.
I make a lot of rings for people who are marking something: a move, a loss, a decision. If you tell me the story I will keep it to myself, and I will probably make the piece a little differently because of it.
