Our story
Made by Ruth Calloway, Mountain Home.
There is a porch on Mill Street in Mountain Home with a rocking chair and a basket of wool, and most mornings that is where the work gets done. I have knit since I was nine; I have sold what I knit since my hands outran my family's need for sweaters.
The wool comes from a single flock in southern Missouri, sheared in spring and spun at a small mill in Tennessee that I have visited twice. It is not the softest yarn in the world. It is the warmest, it will outlast anything from a store, and the sheep have names.
Most pieces are made to order so that sizing is real sizing: you send measurements, I knit to them, and it fits. That takes two to three weeks and I will not rush it. The socks and beanies I keep in stock because winter does not wait.
